Take a tour into the herd at Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve in Fremont

Tours are $10 per adult and $7 for children 10 and under and begin on the hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through April. The preserve is open Wednesday-Sunday May through October.

The calving season typically begins in mid-May with approximately 50 new calves. A new-born buffalo weighs approximately 35 pounds. Wild Winds, which spans 400 acres, is home to about 150 buffalo.

The gift shop is also open, as well as the log-hewn bed and breakfast.
