Spring has arrived, and everyone is excited to start their outdoor adventures!

Steuben County, Indiana

Spring is nearly here, and everyone is excited to start their outdoor adventures! Whether you are new to the area or frequently visit Steuben County, you don’t want to pass up a visit to the Trine State Recreation Area near Pokagon State Park. Open year-round, you can experience the beautiful wetlands and the adjacent Wing Haven Nature Preserve as well as biking, hiking, boating, fishing and more

As one of the original state parks in Indiana, Pokagon State Park is committed to preserving the beauty and biodiversity of the area and the quality of its natural features and amenities. Steuben County is unique for its 101 lakes that formed when glaciers melted thousands of years ago. These lakes attract visitors each year who enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and spending time near the water.

Don’t miss Pokagon State Park as it begins to bloom this spring. Plan a day trip to fish and bird watch in the wetlands and meadows, or reserve a weekend stay at a lakeside cabin rental at Trine Recreation Area. Enjoy the paved biking trail and hiking trails through Trine SRA before enjoying a meal at a variety of restaurants within a few miles of the park. You can stay the 138-room Potawatomi Inn, named after the Native American tribe that once inhabited this region. The lakefront inn has two restaurants, an indoor pool, sauna, gift shop, and game room.

We look forward to seeing you on the trails with your family and friends! More information on the Trine State Recreation Area, Potawatomi Inn, Pokagon State Park and more can be found at our website www.lakes101.org.
