When you walk inside Through the Years, you will likely be greeted by Leroy and Irene Wisel. Leroy and Irene will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in 2023. They married right after they graduated from high school and began buying and selling antiques. Leroy and Irene have always enjoyed looking for the best in quality antique furniture and other items. Leroy will be quick to share his first car, which is proudly displayed behind the cash register along with a photo of him driving it. As the story goes, his father caught him peddling down the road in this car and he took it away. In the back of the store you will find another car on display, his bright red Impala!

The Impala is surrounded by antique toy cars and automotive signs. Motor heads will all appreciate this section of the store. But that’s not all because although Through the Years is filled with all kinds of treasures, it’s the furniture that catches my eye! Check out this amazing cherry highboy that came from an estate in the Coldwater Lake area. It surpassed my quality test with inside dovetailed drawers that are flush with the top of the outside of the drawer. Leroy estimated that it was likely made in the 1920s.
