Indiana’s premier hot air balloon competition returns to Angola

Angola Balloons Aloft 2022 features 35 hot air balloons, including five special shape balloons. Admission and parking are free, thanks to the generosity of our many sponsors.

Angola Balloons Aloft kicks off at 7 a.m. July 8 with approximately 18 balloons filling the Steuben County skies. Friday evening activities include paid helicopter rides, food and retail vendors, a kid’s fun zone, a competition flight, and the crowd-favorite hot air balloon illumination.

On July 9, the pilots will fly again at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., wind and weather permitting. A full day of activities is scheduled, including an antique tractor show, Strongman Jon Bruney, “Attaboy Band,” a chance to meet the balloon pilots and first responders, the kid’s fun zone, a classic car show, and cruise-in plus another twilight hot air balloon illumination. A morning flight is set for July 10, with that being the only event taking place on Sunday.
