Explore Pokagon State Park via horseback
Explore Pokagon State Park from a different vantage point. The saddle barn offers guided horseback trail rides Friday-Sunday through Memorial Day. The first trail ride departs at 10 a.m. while the last trip out leaves the saddle barn at 5 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ride.
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the saddle barn is closed Tuesday and Thursday and open all other days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After Labor Day, the barn reverts to weekends only through Oct. 31.
Reservations are taken for the same day only and it’s best to come to the barn to reserve. If you call, you must pay at the barn no later than one hour prior to your ride reservations. If the reservation is still unpaid one hour before the start of your trail ride, it will be cancelled. Walk-ins are welcome and you will be scheduled on the next available ride. The saddle barn may close due to rain or high temperatures so please call (260) 833-6007 if these conditions are present. All major credit cards and cash are accepted.
In order to ride, children must be at least 8 years old and 52 inches tall. The weight limit for riders is 250 pounds. The cost is $30 per rider. There are no dress requirements, but riders are usually more comfortable in long pants and closed toe shoes. Carry your phone, etc. at your own risk. If it’s dropped many horse feet may pass over it before it’s retrieved.
Short pony rides for $5 are available for younger children.
Pleasant Lake Days
Everyone was sitting at table cloth covered picnic tables under a pavilion so we sat down to enjoy...
Pokagon State Park
Pokagon is also home to the state’s only refrigerated toboggan. Open weekends the day after Thanksgiving through the last weekend in February, the toboggan is a great family activity.
101 Lake Sauce
