Angola’s newest art studio offers an opportunity for you to get in touch with your creative side. Relic Emporium has a variety of classes as well a chance to create a one-of-a-kind glazed painted pot.
Painted pots range in price from $15 to $25, depending on size. “Anyone can learn-it’s just a step by step process,” owner Janelle Slone said. “It always turns out to be something functional. You can look back at the piece and remember the time you spent creating it and the people you were with.”
“I want to see people get re-connected to the lost arts: pottery, drawing and painting,” Slone said. “I also offer a darkroom for black and white photography as well as portraits, photo jewelry and handmade tiles.” Relic Emporium also sells birdhouses, mugs and other custom pottery.
The studio is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and by appointment on Sunday.
